The Countryside Ranger Service was involved in helping to develop a Biodiversity Plan for Ayrshire. You can download PDF documents of this plan soon. The Park has trails and paths that wind through the woods and fields and alongside the river. You'll be able to spot various trees, birds, insects and animals on your way. Our Countryside Rangers Service, based within the field centre at Dean Castle Country Park, work to educate, interpret, monitor and protect wildlife and its environment not just within the country park but throughout East Ayrshire. The work of our Countryside Rangers is very varied and they undertake many activities including:
red squirrels
